S908_1 Strings and things...

I think this thing has too many strings... The long scale makes tuning low easy.





The pickups are a bit different than I wanted. Getting A8 magnets long enough for 8 string pups is too expensive so I used C8s. The pickups have a seymour duncan distortion sound to them instead of the diablo sound I wanted. I still have work to do on them though so hopefully I can tame some of the ceramic overtones before we are done.

And now for something completely different. Black sand back and Orange destroyer... I am aiming for the Bengal tiger look.

More shots of a guitar getting clear... final buff coats went on today. After it cures we oiled the neck, buff, fret dress, and assemble.

Knots sealed and clear is going on. The constant thunderstorms have been a real pain as it makes it too humid to paint.

Ended up recessing the Kahler. I have no idea why I put a kahler on my guitar... I just never use tremolos. Everything is installed and set up now. Time to take it apart and get ready for finishing.
