I really hate fitting other peoples necks to my guitars. After squaring up the sides of the neck it is time to locate the old holes. Rather than fill the holes and drill new ones I decided to reuse them. Some nails and a pair of cutters results in good markers.
A smack with a hammer and I have marks.
When drilling holes in wood with a brad tip bit there is a great way to ensure no tear out. Set the brad to just touch the deck and drill the holes. Flip the piece and use the very small hole the brad leaves to locate the drill bit and drill away.
Neck ferrules recessed. Still not a fan of bolt on necks...
Bridge is set, string ferrules drilled, electronics holes as well.
