D506_1 neck work

Regular scarf joint on this one... no tricks. I am going to have to be careful and line up the veneers or I will have a nice piece of firewood. Mark, test clamp, line up veneers, drill pilot holes for nails that will hold the lines straight while we assemble.



Glue on both sides of the joint. Align and clamp. After it tacks up I switch to larger screw clamps.



One quick trick. Ivory soap on the clamp jaws so the glue doesn't stick.
